 AMOREPACIFIC'S Moisture Bound Masques

Hello! Want to hear about the most expensive masques I've ever tried? At $99 for six treatments (or $35 for two), AMOREPACIFIC's Moisture Bound Intensive Serum Masques* have a luxury price tag. Are they worth it? Keep reading for my experience and thoughts!

 AMOREPACIFIC'S Moisture Bound Masques

AMOREPACIFIC'S Moisture Bound Masques are a two-phase system: first, you apply the serum that comes in one of the tiny vials, and then apply the sheet masque. The masque itself is in two sections: an upper layer for your forehead, eyes, and nose; and a lower layer for your mouth and chin. I know one-piece sheet masks can sometimes be too small or big for each area of the face, so this is a much better system! These one have a thicker cotton outside and an almost rubber-like underside, making rips less likely to occur.

"Infused with 100 percent pure bamboo sap and AMOREPACIFIC’s hydrating 5‐Hydra Complex™—a proprietary fusion of potent Asian botanicals—this mask effectively revitalizes parched, lackluster skin to restore essential moisture and luminosity. It boosts skin’s moisture retention power, leaving skin nourished, vibrant, and youthful-looking." --Sephora

The serum vials really are tiny, but contain more than enough product for each masque session. There is a heavy perfume-like fragrance as well as alcohol in the formula, so I would be cautious if you have very sensitive or dry skin. Alcohol is very drying so I'm not sure why a product with "Moisture-Bound" in its name would include it as the second ingredient, though it at least didn't seem to adversely affect my combination/oily skin.

The masque itself stays on well enough that I can move around while wearing it; and like most masques, they should stay on for 15-20 minutes. It's pretty comfortable to wear -- I think the two section aspect of the masque really plays a big part in that. Removal is simple and nothing sticks or pulls, and the serum absorbs well into my skin while wearing the masque. I have to say I was skeptical this product would be worth the hefty price tag and claims -- but my skin really is more luminous and even-toned after just one use! Even the next day I found my foundation went on more smoothly without even using a primer. The masque is hydrating but I don't think it would help very dry skin -- again, the alcohol is a deterrent. But if you have combo, oily, or normal skin? Yes!

 AMOREPACIFIC'S Moisture Bound Masques

I really, really recommend AMOREPACIFIC's Moisture Bound Intensive Serum Masques if your skin fares well with alcohol in skincare formulas. The price is definitely in the realm of "treat yo'self," but I can see these masques being great for a special event like a wedding (bridal party gift?), prom, etc. My skin looks great for days after using one masque, so that justifies the price a bit more for me.
