Scent Sundays on

Scent Sundays are back! Yay! This week I have the last fragrance from my Sephora sample bag, Giorgio Armani's Sì ($30-$135 CAD). (It was going to be Narciso Rodriguez's For Her, but it seems to have leaked and is now completely empty.) Keep reading to see what I thought of !

Scent Sundays Giorgio Armani Si

Sì is a tribute to modern femininity, an irresistible combination of grace, strength, and independent spirit. A modern chypre reinvented, Sì opens with deep blackcurrant nectar that softly recedes to airy florals. A base of musky blond wood adds lightness while grounding the fragrance for a lingering, distinctive trail.

Chypre, Blackcurrant Nectar, Airy Florals, Musky Blond Wood. --Sephora

I have to say that I'm not very familiar with what chypre smells like, but this blog post describes it as "mossy, earthy, warm, spicy and nature-smelling,"  And  does have a sort of warm, earthy balance to it. I get a lot of the musk from this, along with florals and a hint of sweetness. Sometimes musky florals can be cloying or the floral too powdery, but  balances them extremely well. From previous posts in this series, I've come to realize I enjoy a hint of sweeter notes but not when they are overpowering -- and  hits the mark of subtle sweetness.

The florals come out stronger during the heart and drydown stages, but the Sephora description is spot on when saying they are grounded by the musky blond wood.  is a lovely, feminine but not cloying blend that is sensual and deep. It's the first Armani fragrance I've tried, and I'm impressed!

There's also a Sì eau de toilette that sounds promising and I need to try it! Have you tried either  fragrances?

Thus ends the first segment of Scent Sundays! I'm pleasantly surprised that I've enjoyed most of the fragrances I've sampled. And now I actually look forward to receiving these little vials with beauty purchases. I have many more to review, from Dior to NEST, and perhaps then move on to the wonderful, varied world of indie. I hope you're enjoying this series as much as I am! Thanks for reading!
