Essence Mountain Calling Cream to Powder Blush in Let's Climb Mount Beauty Review, Photos, Swatches

Wednesday, December 02, 2015

Ever since Essence Cosmetics landed at Shoppers Drug Mart a couple years ago, I've been enamored with their products, especially their limited edition collections. While we Canadians don't get everything that Essence produces in Europe (and we're about a year behind on collections), Essence's LE displays are always adorable and affordable. The Mountain Calling collection is now at SDM, and I had to pick up the Cream to Powder Blush in Let's Climb Mount Beauty ($3.99 CAD). Keep reading to see what I thought of this drugstore gem!

Let's Climb Mount Beauty is a true red in the pan, and admittedly looks very intimidating. But never fear! One layer, applied with fingers, of this blush provides a gorgeous, fresh-out-of-the-cold flush to my pale skin. It's pigmented but sheers out beautifully to a powder finish, and can be layered for more intense colour, which should work well on a variety of skintones. It also lasts all day on my skin and doesn't have a discernible scent (though I not-so secretly wish it smelled like cherries...)

I love, love, love this blush. I love that I can apply it with fingers and I won't get clown cheeks. I love how cheap it is! I just wish the SDM displays had more available (there's usually about four or so of each product in the display), so I highly recommend you try to hunt this down. There are other cute things in the Mountain Calling collection, and Trysh has convinced me I need the Translucent Powder. I have the snowflake top coat too, which I will post a review of if my fingernails ever behave enough to get good pictures!

Have you tried anything from the Mountain Calling collection yet? You can find Essence at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada, or Ulta in the US!
