the body shop smoky poppy scrub

I usually associate The Body Shop with their bright, fruity scents, which I love in body products. When the Smoky Poppy line was released earlier this year, I was intrigued and knew I had to try it. I love sensual, smoky fragrances, so I picked up the Smoky Poppy Body Scrub ($20, 200ml; currently on sale for $10). Keep reading to see what I thought!

I already love The Body Shop's scrubs, and this one is no different. It's formulated with oils for moisture and salts for scrubbing, as well as actual poppy seeds. I think the salts do a better job at exfoliating than the seeds, but it's a nice visual effect. Do be warned, though -- you'll probably end up with a few poppy seeds on your bath floor, Oh, and due to the oils, it will be slightly slippery. so be careful! #beautyisdangerous

The Smoky Poppy scent is quite lovely; smoky as the name implies, while still being slightly floral and sweet. It definitely leans on the feminine side, and it's pretty strong and will stick around on your skin for a few hours after using the scrub. I find it quite nice to use at night and find the scent relaxing.

The scrub itself is quite thick and gritty, and I only need a small amount for all over the body. It leaves my skin smooth, soft, and sufficiently exfoliated. I love the experience of a good scrub, and TBS's Smoky Poppy is a winner in texture, efficacy, and scent!

As of January 16th, 2016, all of the Smoky Poppy products are on sale on TBS's site, so I'm not sure if the scent is being discontinued or not. I highly recommend picking up the scrub and other products at discount though!
