Scent Sundays: Atelier Cologne Collection Azur - Cèdre Atlas

Monday, November 30, 2015

Scent Sunday! On a Monday! Oops. Anywho, today's scent is Atelier Cologne's Cèdre Atlas ($30-$130 CAD). I've heard good things about Atelier Cologne, so I was excited to try this scent. Keep reading to see what I thought!

A completely unexpected experience inspired by ingredients from regions where water and sky become one, Cèdre Atlas is a woody and citrus fragrance with notes of atlas cedarwood from Moroccan rif, lemon from Sicily, and white amber. The clean citrus top gives way to an earthy depth reminiscent of snowy woods and clear skies. This earthy woody fragrance is exclusive to Sephora. It provides the freshness and elegance of a cologne, but is designed to provide lasting fragrance on the skin.
NotesSicilian Lemon, Calabrian Bergamot, Blackcurrant Bud, Atlas Cedarwood from Moroccan Rif, Jasmine, Apricot, White Amber, Indian Papyrus, Haitian Vetiver. --Sephora

This sample came with a postcard depicting different citrus fruits and branches and things. Pretty neat! I'm guessing each Atelier Cologne scent has its own postcard, or maybe just the ones from the Collection Azur? It's a nice touch.

Cèdre Atlas opens with many citrus/fruity notes such as lemon and apricot, and reminiscent of body products I like to use (which isn't a bad thing!), and the amber and jasmine notes soon come into play. The heart is where the woods shine, though the citrus notes are still present. I can't really pinpoint what each wood is, but I'm not really sure what Atlas Cedarwood or Indian Papyrus smell like, so I'll take Atelier Cologne's word for it that they're there. The drydown is mainly woody with a hint of citrus.

I really enjoy this scent! It's very complex and energizing -- the perfect daytime fragrance. I have a couple more Atelier Cologne scents I'll be receiving in my Christmas Sephora order, and I can't wait to try them.

Have you tried Cedre Atlas or anything else by Atelier Cologne?
