The Clarins Lip Oil in Honey isn't really an oil -- it's more of a thicker gloss. I'd say the name comes from the plant oils in the formula, rather than the texture of the product. In the bottle it has a yellow-orange tint, but it goes on mostly transparent on my lips. The Honey scent is a lovely combination of vanilla and honey,

The applicator is a larger doefoot (Clarins calls it a cocoon), and this helps spread the gloss across the entire lip. I'd say you need only one dip in the tube for full coverage. The texture is a bit sticky, but not overly so (less than, say, a MAC Lip Glass), and it leaves a shiny finish which also looks gorgeous over lipstick!

The oil lasts a few hours, and remains mostly intact through eating and drinking. As for nourishing lips, I agree with Jayne in her review  where she said they create a mask over the lips to retain moisture. When I wore this when I had chapped lips, it didn't do much for them, but wearing it on lips in fairly good condition helps keep them from getting chapped. I'm sure the oils help, but I need something heavier duty when my lips are in bad condition.

I wouldn't say the Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is a must-have, but it's a nice product and looks great on both bare lips and over lipstick (so shiny!) You can find it at Clarins.ca, Murale, and Shoppers Drug Mart.
