Odacité Po + R Pomegranate Rose Geranium Serum Concentrate Review, Photos

Hey everyone! I've had the opportunity to work with the Detox Market, an online and offline marketplace for natural and organic beauty and skincare products which has recently expanded into Canada. They sent along some Odacité goodies for me to try, and today I am going to discuss the Po + R Pomegranate Rose Geranium Serum Concentrate* ($49 CAD for 5ml). Keep reading to learn more about it and the brand! (Spoiler: THEY'RE AMAZING.)

Odacité was founded by Valérie Grandury (she also co-founded The Detox Market with Romain Gaillard), who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. Shocked that the skincare she used contained toxic ingredients, she decided to try organic products -- only to realize many of them didn't have an expiration date, and she wondered just how active the ingredients actually were. She decided to start making her own skincare, containing fresh, pure and organic ingredients. She also developed the Freshiency Date -- the window of time in which each ingredient in a product maintains its full freshness and efficiency. Every products come with a card stating the date of manufacture and when the product will start losing its potency.

Now, let's talk about the Po + R Serum! It contains only three ingredients: pomegranate oil, rose geranium flower/leaf oil, and vitamin E oil. Pomegranate oil is supposed to replenish the skin's moisture barrier with punicic and ellagic fatty acids; and rose geranium oil balances sebum and nurtures and hydrates skin. This serum is meant to be incredibly moisturizing while visibly improving skin elasticity. You can either apply it directly to wet skin for a boost of hydration, or mix two to three drops in your moisturizer twice daily.

The serum has a slightly sticky texture and smells kind of like honey/pomegranate (even though there's no honey in there!) It was easy to dispense with the dropper until the bottle was about 1/3 full; then I found the dropper wasn't long enough but I had no trouble simply pouring some serum out directly from the bottle (it has a thicker viscosity so it doesn't all spill out at once).

I prefer mixing it with moisturizer rather than applying directly to skin, as the sticky texture makes it take a while to soak in. Still, directly applying is really great for targeting specific dry areas and I recommend trying it at night.
Applying it with moisturizer allows the moisturizer to have a wider spread, and it and the serum will sink within the regular amount of time the moisturizer usually does.

I'm pretty amazed at how effective the Po + R serum is! I've had issues with dry skin this past, long, terrible winter. My nose had a raw area that wouldn't go away with any creams I had until I tried the serum (and other Odacité products which I will be reviewing soon). I had noticeably softer, more radiant skin the morning after using the serum the night before. While I like natural products, I often take their claims with a grain of salt -- but this is the real deal. Odacite's Po + R Serum Concentrate is magic.

Now, 5ml may not seem like a lot, but you only need 2-3 small drops at a time, so it should last for at least a month if you're using it twice a day. I've had great results only using it once a day now that my skin is back to combination/oily "normal," but you may need to use it twice a day if your skin is very dry.

There are 18 (!) other serum concentrates to choose from to cover any areas you need treatment for, ranging in price from $35 to $65 CAD. Based on my experience with Odacité, I have a strong feeling they're all worth a look!

Bonus points: the serum came with this map which details each serum concentrates' extraction method, cultivation method, continents, and country origins. From the key I've learned that the Po + R serum is cold-pressed virgin, grown without chemicals, and from Germany and South Africa. :)

Have I convinced you yet? Odacité has tons of other skincare products available, some of which I will be reviewing soon!
