Moon Cats Winter Oblong Scarf in On the Dot Review, Photos + Coupon

Thursday, December 18, 2014

There's no use denying it: winter is upon us here in the north-Northern Hemisphere, With it comes cold, wind, snow, ice, cold, late mornings and early nights, cold... But one perk is cute winter fashion. Cute boots! Cute hats! And especially, cute scarves!

When Moon Cats contacted me to see if I'd like to try a scarf for review, I had to say yes. Because I love cats. And I love scarves. Moon Cats is located in the Fashion District of NYC, and I love NYC. I need to go back. Someone go start a Kickstarter for me to travel.  Just kidding. Hey, it worked for potato salad...

I was sent a winter oblong scarf in On the Dot($39.95 USD):

Since I don't own a mannequin, I got creative and used my little Christmas tree. The scarf is made of 100% acrylic with a cashmere feel, and measures 72" in length and 12" in width.

The scarf is indeed very soft, very warm and not itchy at all. It shed a bit of red fuzz on my winter coat, but I've had that experience with other scarves of similar fabric, and I don't consider it an issue. Worth mentioning though!

I really like the pattern, as it's festive but can be worn all winter. The underside's colours are inverted, and there is a tag with the Moon Cats name in gold:

It's recommended that you hand wash the scarf, which I admit I haven't done yet. I have worn this through snow/rain and the fabric hasn't bled, so I don't think that would be an issue with washing. However, I will be sure to come back to this post if there are any issues.

Moon Cats sells oblong scarves, infinity, and men's, as well as gloves, hats, and head wraps. Most scarves are $39.95 USD, with some going for $49.95.

I also have a code for 20% off any order, no minimum spend: BEAUTYINFINITUM20OFF
Good for the next year!

How's your winter going so far? (Or summer, if you live upside-down.) Will you be picking up any scarves to wear?
