Irresistible Me Hair Extensions Review, Photos

Tuesday, December 09, 2014

Having fine hair, I've often envied those with naturally full locks. Having kept it short for most of my life, in the last few years I've grown it out with the hope to some day achieve "mermaid hair" (very long, beachy waves). I don't know if I'll ever be able to achieve that naturally, but in the meantime, enter Irresistible Me clip-in hair extensions.

Irresistible Me sells human Indian Remy clip-in hair extensions* in a variety of colours, lengths, and weights. The prices range from $129-$299 depending on the length and weight (100g, 140g, or 200g -- 20 inches and above are only available in 200g weight as it looks more natural), with free global shipping on orders over $150.

Extensions come packaged in a pretty black box, with a separate section for a sample weft of hair. You are supposed to try out the weft to make sure the length, weight and colour are to your liking; if not, you can return the unopened section of extensions.

The clip-ins are easy to apply, but require a bit of practice applying exactly where they should go. There is a good video tutorial here that I recommend viewing!

One of the 2-weft pieces

The hair extensions I chose are the Royal Remy in Platinum Blonde, 20 inches at 20g. The set includes one large 4-weft piece, one 3-weft, five 2-wefts, and two 1-weft.  They are very soft and sleek -- I can definitely tell they are high quality. There is no chemical-y odour but they do smell like, well, hair. It is recommended you wash them every 10 to 20 uses with a moisturizing shampoo and balsam conditioner. These extensions can be dyed, but keep in mind they have been chemically processed so they may not retain their quality after more processing. It's recommended you use a semi-permanent dye if you choose to dye them. They can also be curled and styled.

I do find the extensions slightly heavy when they're applied, but I can barely feel them with just one or two of the smaller wefts in. When I was first testing out the extensions, I tried putting in the full set but I've found it most comfortable and natural-looking with my fine hair to exclude the large 4-weft piece, and two of the 2-weft pieces. The clips on the wefts are easy to open and close, and it's very easy to remove the extensions afterward.

Now, to the best part: The before and after!

The extensions are slightly too light for my hair (which is my own fault for choosing Platinum), but I really like the way they look nonetheless! Styling will also help to make them look more natural and blended.

Irresistible Me's clip-in hair extensions are awesome! It's amazing having long, full hair that I'd never be able to achieve on my own. They would be great for special events like prom, weddings, etc. Depending on how you use them, the extensions should last three to six months (I'd imagine dyeing, heat styling, etc. affects their longevity).

You can order extensions at Irresistible Free worldwide shipping on orders over $150, and they take Paypal (yay)! There are also Christmas deals where you can get up to 40% off!
