Click to embiggen!

Yep. That's right -- Mr. Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger himself gave me fitness/motivation advice during his last reddit AMA. I'm pretty much a chicken with its head cut off the last couple days. Not only do I want to get physically stronger, I want to do more with this blog, eat better, cook from scratch more often, get organized, EVERYTHING.

So where do I start? I have about fifty million (estimated) products to test and review. I've set up a homemade lightbox which helps cut my photo editing time tremendously. My only problem right now is perfecting face pics for reviews, because I can't exactly stick my head in the lightbox. I want to do some looks and fashion posts as well, which will require a better setup.

As for fitness, I've been doing some arm curls with 10 pound weights, and I need to get back into Wii Fit U and the Just Dance games because they make me feel good.

I also need to get into cooking healthy meals and snacks instead of relying on pre-packaged, processed junk. I could start by setting up the Ninja Kitchen System I got for Christmas... My husband and I have been following a vegetarian/pescetarian diet since last summer (with a few lapses in it for Thanksgiving and Chinese food), and there are lots of recipes I want to try. Like zucchini fries and black bean veggie burgers. Anyone have any favourite vegetarian/vegan recipes/sites?

I leave you with my new mantra: "Get your head straight and don't be lazy." Thank you, Mr. Terminator.

  5. So very cool! If you figure out the face shot thing, do share. Every time I go to take one, I curse my bad bathroom lighting, and then picture myself sticking my head in a light box. Always gives me a laugh, but the idea is so tempting...

    1. I think natural daylight works best or a daylight bulb, but it's tricky if you don't have a mirror to arrange yourself in front of, or something to put the camera on if you're self-timing. Need to experiment!

  6. Leave it to Arnold to tell it like it is! I have also been told that I look "weak", but I'm actually not! I do the 10lbs weights as well and if you're small, the muscle shows pretty quickly.
