e.l.f. Essential Eye Shadow Brush Review, Photos

e.l.f. makes some pretty great brushes in their Studio range, though I have very limited experience with the Essential line, having previously only tried the face brush (which was very scratchy). Having been given the opportunity to review some e.l.f. products from Nail Polish Canada,  I picked out the Essential Eyeshadow Brush*, which retails for a very reasonable $2.25 CAD.

So, how did it fare? To cut to the chase: very well! This brush has shorter, dense bristles which make it possible to pack on colour and easily distribute to the lid. It also works well at adding detail to the crease/outer V.

I experienced very minimal shedding during the first wash (2 or 3 hairs), and none afterwards or during use. It's not the softest brush I own, but it isn't scratchy, either. Overall, I'd say it's worth having one or two (or three, four...) of these in your brush arsenal, especially at such a low price.

There's free shipping on all Canadian orders at Nail Polish Canada, and they sell other makeup brands, and of course, nail polish. :)

Have you tried this brush or other ones by e.l.f.? What are favourite brush brands?

    1. Nothing quite like getting good/decent products for under $5 :)

  2. i'm not sure if mine are exactly the same but i picked up a bunch of similar elf brushes when i saw them for $2 at dollarama! while they are not my favourite, they do come in handy and you can't beat the price!

    1. They are such a great price -- some of mine have broken (not this one but Studio ones) but it's not a big deal since they're so cheap to start with.
