Born Pretty Store Holo Polish #12 Review, Photos, Swatches

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

...Oh, hey! Sorry for the unexpected break. I have a polish review to hopefully smooth things over!

Not only does Born Pretty Store sell nail art supplies, they also sell various nail polishes as well! I chose a holographic polish to review, #12*, as I am a holo fiend and didn't have one in a shade like this.

Born Pretty Holo Polish #12, two coats, no top coat.

#12 is a deep blue/green linear holo and perfect for the colder months. The formula was really good -- neither too thick nor thin, and two coats yielded perfect opacity. You could potentially get away with one thicker coat if your application is good, but in the photo above I did two for good measure.

Born Pretty's holos are all mini sizes (6ml/0.2 fl oz) and they have a shorter brush. I actually really like the shorter brush as I find it's easier to control and I don't make as many mistakes as I tend to do with a longer brush. The square cap was easy to grip as well.

I got about four days of wear out of this (without topcoat) before removing it. I only had minor tipwear -- mostly on my dominant hand -- so I probably could have worn it longer, but I'm terrible at keeping the same polish on for more than a few days. Most polishes chip on me after a day or two, so having four without any major wear is pretty good!

My only issue with this polish is that I don't see any ingredients listed on the website, so I'm not sure if it's 3-free or not.

There are 12 holo polish shades available from Born Pretty, currently on sale for $4.59-$5.59. You can buy #12 for $5.59. I wouldn't recommend buying them if they go back to the original price ($12.88) as they are minis, and you can find full-sizes for that price from other brands. I do think the sale price is fair though, especially considering Born Pretty has free worldwide shipping.

Can you believe it's almost already fall? Have you been digging out any fall-themed nail polishes lately?

That is a really pretty holo, and lately I've been going on a holo phase with my polishes, so I hope these from Born Pretty are something I can try :)

    1. They seem to have a few neat polishes/collections. They also have clothing and accessories, among other things, though I haven't really checked them out. I just looked up "cat" on the site and omg the cuute stuff!
