Beauty Shots: Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen Lotion SPF30 Review, Photo

Hello! I've decided to start a new series of shorter, quicker (and more frequent!) reviews. These will be a paragraph or two with just one picture, as opposed to my longer reviews, basically for products I feel don't need a lengthy post. I will still be doing longer posts when necessary, of course!

Thanks to my friend Leilani for coming up with the name "Beauty Shots"!

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Sunscreen Lotion SPF30:

For around $10 CAD for 180ml (the above pic shows a 59ml sample), this sunscreen lotion provides broad-spectrum sun protection using octocrylene (5%), oxybenzone (3%), and avobenzone (2%). What I love is that this sunscreen acts and feels like a body lotion, quickly absorbing into skin, leaving it lightly moisturized without the stickiness that some sunscreens can cause. It also has a yummy, fruity/coconut scent that lingers on the skin for about an hour or so.

It promises 12 hour moisturization, which I can't confirm or deny as my skin doesn't get very dry in the summer. I can tell you that it makes me skin smooth and hasn't caused any adverse reactions. I definitely recommend it if you want a moisturizing sunscreen without the stickiness, white cast or long absorption time that some have!

Available at grocery stores, drugstores, Walmart, etc.

I received a free sample of this through Klout. All opinions are my own.

  3. I like that there aren't any adverse reactions. Sunscreen is great in the summer and the winter, and it's always nice when it moisturizes as well.

    1. Nice! I think it's a good idea to use it as a lotion even if you're just indoors... could protect from any UV rays seeping through the windows!
