Culling the Stash, Part 3: April's Empties

Hello! Can you believe it's already May?! Longer days, warmer weather (sort of) -- I love it!

I didn't do as well as last month with finishing up products in April, but I still managed to empty some things.

1. Bath & Body Works Into the Wild Smoothing Body Scrub
-I bought this last year while I was in Toronto. This was a decent body scrub, but I think this scent is discontinued.
Buy?: Maybe, in another scent available. There aren't any B&BW stores here though, so I'd probably only buy another scrub if I was visiting somewhere where there was one.

2. Cover FX Skin Prep FX Primer
-Another awesome primer by Cover FX. I'm not sure how beneficial the "anti-aging" part is though.
Buy?: Yes, or another type (like Clear Prep).

3. Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Restorative Styling Oil
-Chock-full of silicones and not really that special.
Buy?: No.

4. L'Oreal Hair Expertise Re-Nutrition Intense Mask
-Not a bad hair mask, but not as moisturizing as I prefer. Read my full review here.
Buy?: Not this specific product, but I'd buy other L'Oreal Hair Expertise products.

5. Dark Circle Under Eye Treatment
-This didn't really do anything for my dark circles, and I find my eye area doesn't need its own cream as its always fairly hydrated anyway.
Buy?: No.

6. Cucio Naturale Pomegranate & Fig Butter
-This smelled amazing and is a great body lotion. I cut open the back to use every last drop!
Buy?: Maybe. It's about $20 for a full-size tub and I already own 34757238 body butters/lotions that I can't justify spending that much on another just yet. But if I ever use them all up and/or find a good sale, I would probably purchase.

7. Essie Sleek Sticks samples
-These wouldn't fit any of my nails and I found them difficult to file down/reshape. I really love the designs but it's difficult to know the wear-time when I can't really wear them.
Buy?: Probably not, unless they were on deep clearance.

8. Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream
-A good day cream, though I wish it had SPF.
Buy?: Maybe, though I'd probably buy the night version instead.

9. Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Refreshing Gel-Creme
-I really like Garnier Body's lotions, and this one was neat. I could see the gel being especially nice on a hot summer day!
Buy?: Yes.

10. Supersmile Powdered Mouthrinse
-Neat concept; you add water to the packet to make a mouthrinse/wash. I like that there isn't alcohol in this but I generally prefer liquid mouth wash. I could see this being useful for travel, especially for long flights or camping.
Buy?: Maybe.

11. Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Tinted Moisturizer
-This was too yellow for my skintone and didn't offer very much coverage (though it is just a tinted moisturizer).
Buy?: No.

12. Sally Hansen Polish Strips sample
-Similar deal with the Essies in that they didn't exactly fit my nails. They were a better fit and I got a day out of them, so they weren't bad.
Buy?: Maybe.

In interesting news, I got a new camera! The Canon Powershot SX240 HS (almost the same as the SX260 I wanted, but without the GPS). My husband bought it for me as an early birthday gift and we got it at Shoppers at the 20x the points event, so now I have $85+ worth of points! Yay! I still need to figure out the best lighting situation so my pictures won't have a darker background like you see above, but overall I'm quite pleased with it!

What products have you finished lately? Have you tried any of the above? Let me know!

A also received sme samples of Essie Sleek Sticks and Eucerin Hyal-Urea Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream but I gave them to my mother! I never have the patience to apply nail strips and I suck at it anyway ahah

Those essie strips were horrible, makes me angry just thinking about them!

Oh, that garner body cream sounds really nice. I'm in the same boat unfortunately. I have way to many body creams I need to get through. :( xx

I have a sample of that Eucerin cream too but am afraid to try it for some reason. Do you have a window sill you can put your products on? I find putting stuff there gives me the best lighting in pictures.

I have so many lotions/ Butters and I decided I can't buy more unless I finish most of them. I am literally slathering myself in lotion 2 or more times a day.
I have a sample of the garnier gel too. I am glad you like it, hopefully I will as well.

This reminds me that I need to get a primer! And I usually have no issue with the Sally Hansen nail strips. Congrats on the new camera.

I find it kind of difficult to lay nail strips flat without getting any bubbling. They have some nice patterns at least!

They sent such strangely-sized strips! I wish it were easier to file down the sides to actually fit.

It's so easy to collect so many creams and lotions, isn't it? I think it's because of all the different formulas and interesting scents!

Don't be afraid! The urea is synthetic if that's what you're worried about.

I actually realized I had to adjust my aperture settings. Still getting used to manual settings lol

Yeah, sometimes I just slather on as much as I can in an effort to use things up. It seems like I have a neverending supply though!

The gel is neat. Garnier's lotions are pretty good!

Thank you!

I think my problem was that I didn't lay them flat on the nails so they bubbled a bit. I need to work on that!

I haven't tried the Essie strips from the magazine, but the reviews haven't been very good, but good job on your empties though! The stash WILL be culled!

Thanks! It might take a few years (decades) but it will happen! ;)
