Winners Clearance Haul: Guerlain and Betsey Johnson

I absolutely love Winners. Having no Sephora, Murale, or Holt Renfrew stores in my province, it's sometimes the only way to find certain brands in person. Plus, the prices are usually pretty good. There is of course the problem of people opening and swatching products without buying them, which has caused me much frustration (smashed Bobbi Brown and Clarins palettes, anyone?), but I can sometimes find real gems.

I ventured there the other day and found they were having up to 70% off clearance items. Rummaging through the beauty and accessories, I found some items which I was tempted to buy (Clarins eye and cheek palettes for $8, liquid blush for $2), but they were all damaged. I didn't want to risk buying something someone put their fingers in, or in the case of the liquid blush, might have put on their face. Eck. But what I did find...

Betsey Johnson Jammin' Jungle crew socks (2 pairs)

These are too cute! I love colourful socks. How much did these cost me?

$2! The price comparison says they retail for $20, but they're discontinued (as you can see by the sticker), so I'm not sure how accurate that is. Winners sometimes has incorrect "compare at" prices listed, but $2 for two cute pairs of socks by Betsey Johnson isn't bad!

It gets better....

Betsey Johnson knee socks

Betsey Johnson tights

More cuteness! I can't wait to wear these in spring/summer. Maybe I'll do an Outfit of the Day post in the future wearing these?

So, how much did I pay for them?

30 cents (knee socks) and 70 cents (tights)! Can you believe that? Even if these weren't Betsey Johnson, they'd be a steal. They're also discontinued as you can see, and apparently retailed for $14 (socks) and $20 (tights).

Here's what I'm most excited about finding:

Guerlain Terracotta Mineral Flawless Bronzing Powder

Look! It's in shrink wrap! No illicit fingers ruining it!

$16 for this. 16 bucks!! I saw these earlier at Winners but they were going for $30, which I hemmed and hawed over but decided not to buy. I couldn't resist for $16 though. The "compare at" price says $56, but I looked at the Sephora website and... This is this is going for $71 CAD! I die.

Here are some further photos of this beauty:

It comes with this teensy kabuki which is actually high quality and has soft bristles.

There was a sifter sticker but I took it off before taking photos. It can get rather messy as you can see, but the sifter at least contains most of the product. It works by pushing down on the top with a brush/fingers to release the product.

The shade is 03 Dark, which worries me, but it was the only one at Winners. I'm not entirely sure it will work on my super-fair skin, but I'll try.

Swatched on left, blended on right

Yeah... I'm kind of scared of it. Thankfully it's matte, which way more forgiving than shimmery finishes. I'll have to use a light hand... hold me.

This was my first Guerlain purchase, so I'm treating it like it's my precious. Even if I never use it, I'm still happy I bought it. Even happier that I got it (and the Betsey Johnson stuff) using a gift card!

Have you found any discount steals lately? Do you love stores like Winners/TJMaxx/Marshall's as much as I do?

Items purchased myself. All opinions are my own.

Oh man I'm so jealous you got that bronzer for $16! I've been wanting it forever but cannot pay $70. What province do you live in? Shoppers isn't that great, it's too expensive :(

Ooh that bronzer is awesome! I wish I could have found one here, I went today and all I could find worthy of buying were china glaze nailpolishes and a few other things... no amazing sales though >.<

I love love love winners also. In fact I shop there at least twice a week. I just love when the runway styles go on special. My latest beauty find was a brand new shrink wrapped B Kamins day cream spf 15 on for only $18 (MSRP $120)! My fave fab find of all time though is probably a $3,000 Christian Dior dress on for only $450. Im heading there now!

I've never heard of Winners but it does seem like a great place to shop since you don't have Sephora. Love all the Betsey Johnson stuff you got!

Oooh, jealous of the foundation! Winners is really great for perfumes too!

It can be very hit-or-miss :( They usually have a good selection of nail polish at least, and it's a good place to check for recent LE collections!

Wow! I think I would faint if I found a Dior dress that cheap!

It is a pretty great place! I believe TJMaxx and Marshall's are under the same ownership. Now if only there were a Nordstrom Rack here, lol.
