Christmas Beauty Gifts 2012

Hey everyone! I thought I would show you all the beauty gifts I received this past Christmas. I know some might view a gifts post as bragging, but I wanted to show you these as I'll be reviewing most of them in upcoming posts. Plus, I want to make this blog more personal with pictures from different events in my life, and maybe start doing week/month in photos posts. Let me know what you think!

Most of these gifts I did pick out myself. My family generally asks we suggest what we want from each other (that is reasonable and not completely over-the-top). We do receive some surprises to even things out though! I don't mind either way, as each gift is special and very much appreciated.

Click the link to see what beauty gifts I received this Christmas (and let me know what you'd like to see reviewed first!)

Lady Gaga Fame Eau de Parfum and Shower Gel Gift Set

A gift from my parents. I don't normally go for commercial perfumes anymore, but I was really intrigued by Lady Gaga's first perfume! I have a love/hate affair with her, but I find the perfume very interesting. I love the shape and design of the bottle, and even the shower gel bottle is very nice (it's basic plastic but looks classier!) The whole gift set is put together really nicely.

Kleancolor Kolor Revolution Chunky Holo Nail Laquer Mini Collection

A gift from my mom. I love colourful glitter/holo nail polishes, so I can't wait to try out these shades!

The Collection to Rule Them All by Black Rose Minerals

From my husband. He loves Lord of the Rings, perhaps more than I do, so he had no qualms gifting me this eyeshadow collection from one of my favourite indies, Black Rose Minerals! (I may or may not have pointed him in the direction of it...)

Lancome Holiday 2012 Set

A gift from my mom. She got each of the grown girls (my sister, my brother's girlfriend, and I) gifts using her Shoppers Optimum Points during the early December bonus redemption. She actually had me pick out what I wanted, and I was searching the entire store for something that was a good value for her points. The awesome SDM manager pointed to these Lancome gift sets, and it was love at first sight. Thank you, Mom!!!!! (In case you're reading this, which I hope you're not, as I'm one of those people who is embarrassed to have her blog read by her family...)

And last, but certainly not least, a complete surprise:

This is from my husband -- a genuine emerald necklace. I had no idea he would get me this! He explained that he decided to get me something special as this was our fifth Christmas spent together. Emerald is my birthstone, and coincidentally, the Pantone Colour of the Year (though he probably didn't know the latter!) Thank you so much, Mr. [insert-cutesy-bloggish-name-here]!!!!! (In case you're reading this, which I don't mind as much, oddly enough.)

I'm incredibly lucky and grateful to have such an awesome family (who's still willing to indulge my beauty cravings sometimes)!

Did you give or receive any beauty gifts during the holiday season? Do you pick out your gifts or are they surprises? Let me know, and once again, please do let me know what you'd like to see reviewed first!

Yay May babies! When's your birthday? Mine's May 23. They picked the best colour!

Black Rose Minerals is an awesome handmade indie company. I love the shadows so much! Especially LOTR-themed ones :) Yay for more fans!

Haha, mine knows about it but they haven't looked at it. I hope they don't!

Hi! I found your blog through Karen @ M&BB :) Love the Christmas gifts you got, especially the emerald necklace from your hubs! I'm a may baby too and have been thinking I'd like something with my birthstone but I haven't stumbled upon the magic piece. :) Enjoy your day!
