Love. Hope.

Hello, friends. It's been difficult. It's hard to blog and care about beauty in the wake of tragic events. This is supposed to be a joyful time of year but I waver between living life as usual and wanting to cry. It's hard not to think of the lives snatched away just a few days ago and the subsequent threats and attacks. It's hard to partake in Christmas festivities when so many families are grieving.

We have to keep living though. We have to keep loving and hoping. We can scream and cry to try to relieve the pain and confusion, but ultimately, we have to do our part to improve the world. I firmly believe we can help change the world simply by loving and respecting one another. Start with those closest to you -- your family, your friends. Be kind to those around you. Most importantly, love yourself.

I want to thank each and every one of you for reading and commenting on this blog. It may simply be a tiny beauty blog, but interacting with you really brightens my day. Thank you.

Keep loving and doing what you love. Keep hoping. We will prevail. We will carry on.

Here are some ways you can help in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.

Much love,
Stephanie / eight

  3. More <3. Very well said. I have two jobs that involve working with kids, and I've been crying off and on thinking of the families that have to spend Christmas without their babies, thinking of the kids I work with and how devastated I would be to see them hurt, and angry tears that yet another terrible shooting took place. Sociopathy is a lot to blame I believe, but I so wish there was something that could have been done to prevent so many precious lives from being taken.

I wish something could be done as well. I think there are many factors at play and many things that need to be changed or improved upon. I think at least spreading some love & hope in the world can help. <3
