MaskerAide Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask - All Nighter Review, Photos

Hello! I hope those of you on the east coast are staying safe and dry! I'm thankful that Sandy is bypassing us here in the Maritimes so the weather shouldn't be too bad though. My thoughts are with those affected.

I tried out MaskerAide's All Nighter sheet mask ($4.99 CAD each), which I received in October's Topbox. MaskerAide is a new Canadian brand whose masks are formulated here but made in Korea. They are eco-friendly, vegan, free of common skin irritants, and chock-full of vitamins and nutrients. There are currently six different masks available, focusing on different skincare need, which can be bought through their website (they ship internationally). They're also now available through the store on!

Sheet masks are popular in parts of Asia and have been making their way to the West. MaskerAide explains:

You may be wondering what a sheet mask is. Well, it is a special type of facial mask made from a thin fiber sheet that is cut to contour to your face. The fiber mask is soaked in a highly concentrated serum that is infused with vitamins and nutrients. [x]

They look kind of crazy, and could probably double as part of a Halloween costume ("person-whose-skin-is-shedding"?) but they are effective!

I was happy to receive the
All Nighter mask, as I have a tendency to stay up at ungodly hours of the night, which can take its toll on my skin. This type is described as:

Whether you were up all night studying or out all night partying, we’ve got you covered to face the long day ahead. Apply our ALL NIGHTER mask to awaken, refresh and replenish your skin. The cooling effects of the mask will help de-puff and awaken your eyes, while natural Peppermint Oil awakens your senses. Aloe, Argan Oil, Heartleaf (a powerful detoxifier), Honey, Super Fruit and Cactus Extracts work together to erase the signs of the previous night and get you “boardroom” ready! [x]

This mask is cold when first put on, but after the initial shock it's quite comfortable (think: cold showers). There's a nice peppermint scent that isn't overwhelming. The mask is easy to align with your eyes, nose, and mouth and it's drenched in serum (though not so much that it would drip everywhere). It's best to use this lying down though, and I love anything that tells me to relax for 20 minutes!

After removing, there was still serum left on my skin which can be left on or cleansed off. I opted to leave it on, and it took about 10-15 minutes to completely soak into the skin. Any leftover serum from the mask or packet can also be used to rub into your neck, chest, etc.

The mask was very moisturizing and I noticed over the course of the day my complexion was a lot brighter and more even. I actually looked like I was glowing! My dark circles were still there but there was no puffiness. I'm really impressed at how it made me look so much fresher, and yes, more awake. I recommend this to anyone looking for some early morning TLC and I'd like to try the other mask types too!

Have you tried any of MaskerAide's masks or any other type of sheet masks?

Product received in a previous Topbox, whose subscription I bought myself. All opinions are my own.

I think they are pricier than Asian brands but I've also done some quick searching and a lot of the Western brands charge more. It's a nice treat at least!

Thanks - following you now!

Seriously, I am SO impressed that this sheet mask is vegan :D Super rare to find anything vegan in asian cosmetics/beauty care.

Do you think this might be too oil-heavy for someone who is rather blackhead/acne prone?

The Beauty Re'Store mask from this brand looks awesome too. Would love to try them sometime :)

I have heard such great things about these cloth masks but it sounds weird but I am scared of masks and that puts me off... lol

Yeah, and also the mask is biodegradable and the packaging is recyclable! Love that.

I don't think it's too oil-heavy. My chin is acne-prone and it didn't freak out the skin there. They say on their site the masks are good for all skin types, and I think it's true.

do iiiit!

Ooh, I'd love to read your review of the Detox Diva one!

I'm debating what to spend the $10 credit on! I would like to try more of these masks though.

You only have to wear it for 10-20 minutes if that makes it any better :)

I am obsessed with sheet masks and I found this one to be great too! I would look like a ghost every day if I could, but $5/mask is expensive. Sometimes I use the Asian ones which I can find for 99 cents each, but they're usually not quite as good.

All masks should be sheet masks to contour to your face. I love the price and that you gave it good reviews. Sounds like it's worth trying.

Yeah, I wish they were a bit cheaper. They're a good treat but too expensive for everyday!

I think you should give it a shot! I want to try the other ones too. :)

Hopefully they ship from Canadaland to here! If not, I'll check ebay and other ways of getting it here ;) I really want to try!!

They contain honey extract, but say they are vegan. Most vegans don't consider honey vegan.

Oh geez, how'd I miss that? They should really say vegetarian then instead of vegan... :/
